 Gerald Cravath, 63, of Dickson City, died Wednesday February 17, 2010, at home. He is survived by his wife Deborah Shields Cravath. They would have celebrated 40 years of marriage in June.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of Jack Cravath, Dickson City and the late Josephine Mozeleski Cravath. He was a member of St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City and a graduate of Dickson City High School. He attended
the Johnstown College of Art. Prior to retirement, he was employed by the Scranton State School for the Deaf in the security department.
Gerald was a devoted husband and best friend to Deborah for almost 40 years. They were the love of each other’s lives and soul mates. Deborah loved him more than words can convey and they spent all their time together. (I’ll
love you forever, Jerry.) He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and son-in-law. Gerald was loved by everyone who met him and always went the extra mile for his family and friends. Gerald was an
avid antique collector and an amazing artist whose work is admired by many. His family was the center of his life. His presence lit up a room and will
be deeply missed by all his family and friends.
Surviving are eight children, Mary Cravath Griffin, Gerald Jr., William, Sean, Meghan, James, Maureen and Michael, and son-in-law Eric; three grandchildren, Conner, Mia and Emma; brothers, James, Steve, Anthony and Gary; sisters, Connie and Patricia; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by mother, Josephine; brother, John; and nephew, Jason.
The funeral will be Saturday at 12 noon from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with mass at 12:30 p.m. in St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery,
