Rovinsky , Ann . Obituary


Ann Stasia Rovinsky, 89, of Dickson City, died Wednesday January 27, 2010, after a long illness, at the home of her daughter Eileen, with whom she resided for the last 12 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph J. Rovinsky who died September 1, 1990.

Born in Perth Amboy, NJ on September 3, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Catherine Bamburack Tyminski, Anna was a life long member of St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City, and she attended St. Mary’s Parochial School.

As a young girl she was employed at the US Mint in Philadelphia and was a governess for the Russian Embassy in New York, later she worked at Automation Components, in Peckville and retired from Hamurnat Mfg., Olyphant.

She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister who cared deeply and was very proud of her family. She was a great cook, baker, famous for her lemon meringue pies and pineapple white cake. Anna was an excellent seamstress who adored spending time with her family. She was a very special loving Mother who was deeply loved and will be truly missed.

The family would like to express a heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Hospice Community care including, Sandy Harowicz, RN, Lori Zavaskas and Rhina Nunez an extra special thank you and deep appreciation for the special care and compassion provided by Liz Davis and Lori Beers, they were like family to her.

She passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter surrounded by her family including her grandchildren who served as her physicians.

Surviving are two daughters, who were her caretakers for the last 13 years, Eileen Oleski and husband Ron, Dickson City, Shirley Oleski and husband Frank, Scott Twp; a son, Joseph J. Rovinsky and wife Lisa, Dickson City; five grandchildren, Dr. Darleen Oleski, Dickson City, Dr. Cynthia Oleski and husband Dr. Giovanni Ramos, Scranton, Dr. Sheryl Lynn Oleski and husband Dr. Michael Kim, Scranton; Joseph J. Rovinsky lll and Stephen Rovinsky, Dickson City; five great grandchildren, who were the light of her life, Julia Kerr, Rachel Kerr, Giovanni Ramos, Christopher Ramos, Chloe Kim; three sisters, Mary Fischer, Queens, NY, Pearl Kiwior, Dickson City, Dolores Pieski, Scranton, and a special sister in law Dolores Tyminski, Throop; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Dr. Henry Tyminski and Stanley Tyminski and a sister Clementine Bielinski.

The funeral will be Saturday at 11:30 a.m. from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with mass at 12 p.m. in St. Mary’s Visitation Church, Dickson City, celebrated by Msgr. Stanley Piorkowski. Interment St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Scott Twp. Friends may call Saturday 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
